BlueMotion Technologies Explained

Volkswagen is promoting a sustainable future with the implementation of such technologies. They are helping both your bank balance and the impact drivers are having on the environment.
The new BlueMotion vehicles are aerodynamically designed and elegantly sculpted to reduce drag. The streamlined body optimises fuel consumption helping to reduce running costs. The athletic stance of the new models encases the BlueMotion technology effortlessly allowing these cars to glide along the roads.
BlueMotion technology embraces advanced TDI and TSI engines, complete with DSG dual-clutch gearboxes.

Volkswagen Energy Recuperation
VW have incorporated an energy management system into some of their vehicles. The system captures kinetic energy produced during braking. The energy is stored and utilised by the alternator to add extra charge to the battery. This energy can then aid the alternator during acceleration. The recuperation system reduces the strain on the alternator to reduce fuel consumption.
Fuel Saving Tyres
Low rolling resistance tyres are fitted to BlueMotion vehicles to save fuel and lower CO2 emissions. These tyres require less engine power to offer a supreme driving performance.
BlueMotion Gear ratios
The longer gear ratios for the higher gears reduce consumption. That illustrates that manual gearboxes with optimised gear ratios are another way of saving fuel. Some BlueMotion models offer an intelligent engine management system. The system indicates the gear required for the speed you are travelling. The multifunctional display recommends the gear required for greater efficiency.
